We are a lab, not a newsroom. When we publish, you see exactly how strong the underlying evidence is — including when it is only ours.

  • Peer-reviewed

    Published in a peer-reviewed journal or independently replicated by an outside group.

  • Preprint

    Cited research that has not yet passed peer review. Treat as provisional.

  • Lab observation

    Measured in our own lab on our instruments. Real data, limited scope, awaiting replication.

  • Hypothesis

    A proposed explanation. Not evidence. Listed so you can watch it being tested — or dropped.

Principal Investigator

Dr. Kevin W. McCairn, PhD

Dr. McCairn has published extensively in the neuroscience of large-scale network interactions of the cortico-basal-ganglia networks, and developed the first primate model of Tourette Syndrome.

Former Principal Investigator at the Korea Brain Research Institute, Systems Neuroscience and Movement Disorders Laboratory. His work covers how to efficiently use deep brain stimulation for both movement and neuropsychiatric disorders.
